This is the kind of thing I tend to notice (the double-standard stuff), and other people still seem to be clueless. This couple that crashed the White House state dinner the other night, had their pictures taken with a bunch of attendees from Obama and Biden on down, and were filmed by a crew apparently connected to a reality show that the woman is trying to be a part of -- yeah, THAT couple -- well, the news stories I've seen so far are all about how questions are being asked, and how policies are being reviewed, and how the Secret Service won't let this happen again.
And that's it, end of story. But what if this had happened a couple of years ago, under George W. Bush? How many front-page exposés would we have seen by now, demanding answers about the ineptness of the people implementing the security practices?
Oh, wait a minute, I misspoke. A couple of years ago, "artists" were writing novels and making "future documentary" films about assassinating Bush, and all they got was critical acclaim for the artistic strength of their works! Never mind...
